Five of our participating companies have already given something back to the community through our corporate community service program. Frictionless Commerce, a maker of collaborative software, wanted to get involved in a community project in its neighborhood, so 20 of its employees spent an afternoon painting the Margaret Fuller House, a community center in Cambridge, five minutes walk from Frictionless. EqualLogic, a data storage management company in Nashua, NH, wanted to do something physical outdoors, so we matched EqualLogic with Habitat for Humanity, and EqualLogic’s employees spent a Saturday leveling the yard and building walls for a new home in Nashua. MarketSoft provides software to connect the business process between Marketing, Customer Service, and Sales. MarketSoft employees spent a day painting and sprucing up the Waltham House, a residential facility of the Home for Little Wanderers serving gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) youth ages 14 to 18 (the third such program in the nation). MyStockOptions.com founder Bruce Blumberg used his considerable tennis expertise to teach tennis to inner city children. Outside the Classroom taught computer classes at the Charles River Public Internet Center, and donated its on-line alcohol education program to Gloucester High School where over 150 seniors have already taken this course explaining the pitfalls of alcohol.
