Howard is the Senior Managing Director of the Cambridge-based YankeeTek Ventures, which offers financial, strategic, and promotional services to early-stage Internet start-up companies. Additionally, Mr. Anderson is Founder of The Yankee Group, a high technology research and consulting firm. He is the firm's founder, and served as its President and CEO from 1970 until 1999. The Yankee Group was sold to Primark, a New York Stock Exchange firm, in 1996. Mr. Anderson also was one of the three founders of Battery Ventures, a Boston-based venture capital firm specializing in technology companies. He has served as a Managing Partner and a Special Limited Partner since the company's inception. Mr. Anderson was recently selected by Network World as one of the 25 most important people in communications. He has presented keynote addresses at both Comdex and Network Interop. He is also a contributing columnist to Forbes Magazine. Mr. Anderson is the William Porter Distinguished Lecturer at the MIT Sloan School of Management where he teaches two entrepreneurship courses: New Enterprises and Entrepreneurship in the Internet. Mr. Anderson has an extensive background in entrepreneurship, new ventures and venture capital; with special expertise in the communications and Internet industries. He earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania and an M.B.A. from the Harvard Business School. |
